The Blue Ridge Parkway is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia. The parkway is a national park and is a scenic road 469 miles in length. The Blue Ridge Parkway winds through some of the most beautiful mountains in America. The parkway is especially known for its spectacular fall colors beauty. The parkway begins at the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, flows through the George Washington National Forest in Virginia, past Mount Mitchell in North Carolina, the highest peak in Eastern North America, through the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina and ends at Cherokee, North Carolina at the Smoky Mountain National Forest.
